IMG_7864 Telluride and Mountain Village are in fourth place (together) with three months left to go in the Colorado Association of Ski Towns (CAST) plastic bag challenge.  More than 30 ski towns are involved and the interest in participating is growing.  The concept is reduce consumption of single-use, disposable shopping bags by using re-usable cloth or alternative material bags.  The winning town will receive a $5,000 grant from sponsor Alpine Bank to install a solar panel system at a public school.  Listen to the interview to find out how Telluride and Mountain Village are weaving the CAST Challenge into the bigger picture of becoming more sustainable and how the Challenge has changed each mayor’s personal usage of plastic products.
