MSP's “In Deep” at Telluride's Opera House November 7

 

Saturday, November 7, 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Telluride's Sheridan Opera House offers two screenings of  MSP Films "In Deep."  takes an original look at the sport of skiing in its 2009 movie, "In Deep." The event is sponsored by Jagged Edge, which is providing generous shwag.

With the award-winning cinematography that has made MSP famous, "In Deep" features some of the best skiers in the world – Mark Abma, Sean Pettit, Eric Hjorleifson, Daron Rahlves, Henrik Windstedt, Chris Davenport, Bobby Brown, Colby West, TJ Schiller, Mike Douglas, Kaj Zackrisson, James Heim, Hugo Harrisson, Rory Bushfield, PK Hunder, Ingrid Backstrom, Jacob Wester, Russ Henshaw, Henrik Harlaut, Alexis Godbout, Michelle Parker, JT Holmes, Sammy Carlson, Chris Rubens and Shane McConkey – sharing a common bond: the overwhelming desire to ski. But each skier  finds stoke in his or her own unique way, whether it be a double cork 1260, a deep turn on a storm day, or ripping a giant AK line, so each "In Deep" segment is built around different approaches to  the sport. Highlights include the “Lines” segment, which illustrates each individual’s unique vision of skiing big mountain lines. A standout newcomer to the MSP team, Henrik Windstedt, has a breakthrough segment that transitions into some of the fastest skiing seen in the Alaskan backcountry, courtesy of Rahlves, Davenport, and  Windstedt. The most powerful segment of “In Deep”, and the most anticipated, however, is the tribute segment to Shane McConkey, the long-time friend and superstar skier who died in a BASE jumping accident this year.

"In Deep" was shot in high-definition on location at Squaw Valley, Keystone, British Columbia, Italy, Haines, Sweden, Crested Butte, and additional destinations worldwide.
