Coco_rust_web Relationships are everything in the town of Telluride. For better or for worse. The San Miguel Resource Center kicks in when interpersonal dynamics go on the fritz. It is the region’s only nonprofit serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Kristin Holbrook, owner of one of Telluride’s most popular Main Street boutiques, is a board member of the Resource Center. Last year, she hatched a plan for an unconventional fundraiser for the non-profit: Clutch for the Cause, launches this year on Thursday, July 21, with a cocktail party at Two Skirts, 4 – 7 p.m.

Here’s how it works. You donate a favorite handbag or shop for a new one and Kristin handles the rest. It’s just that simple. The event lasts through the weekend, Sunday, July 24. All proceeds from handbags purchased are to be donated to the Resource Center.

And while we are on the subject of clutches, Paige Hamilton’s are all over the news.

“The Beauty Bean” loves Hamilton’s Olive Bag in hot pink. It’s weatherproof with multiple interior pockets.

Fantastics magazine loves Hamilton’s Sophie shopper in rust, touting its “sexy silhouette.”

One CNN correspondent carried Hamilton’s Coco clutch to The Wedding.

“I am inspired to design simply beautiful handbags that blend function with fashion, to create time-saving, life-changing bags designed for real people to meet real needs. While many of today’s handbags are heavy, oversized and loaded with decorative hardware, my designs keep your shoulders and back healthy,” explained the designer.
