Thursday morning in Town Park, Telluride, Colorado:
There is some quiet activity as last minute preparations are being made for the day’s program. There are festival workers going about their business, the sun is shining, the grass is green (it will turn Blue later), and a sense of peace reigns.
I don’t know if it has always been like this, as I’ve only been here since Bluegrass # 13, but the Thursday morning Tarp Run has become a BIG DEAL. And now, they’re off! Some have been waiting all night to claim a favorite spot on the grass to spread their tarp, stake out their territory. And the peace of a few minutes ago is shattered as a few thousand runners set up for the big show.
Telluride Bluegrass # 39 has begun…
