SECOND CHANCE: PETFLOW PARTNERS

SECOND CHANCE: PETFLOW PARTNERS

Editor’s note: It’s no secret. The Telluride region is dog heaven. Unless you are one of our furry friends who gets caught in the maw of neglect and abuse. Then heaven is on hold until Second Chance Humane Society comes to the rescue.

Second Chance is the region’s nonprofit dedicated to saving animals’ lives and promoting responsible pet parenting and human-animal bond. In her weekly blog, executive director Kelly Goodin profiles two of the many animals from the no-kill shelter, Angel Ridge Shelter, a dog and a cat, hoping to find them loving homes.

The column is sponsored by Ted Hoff of  Cottonwood Ranch & Kennel, who from time to time exercises his skills as a dog whisperer, partnering with Kelly and her staff to help train a particularly challenging animal. Last week’s post about Ginger was a case in point. And when we dropped off Gina the Dog at Ted’s place, we got to meet Ginger, who is now a happy, obedient animal from a sad critter who did not want to be touched and could not be around other dogs. For Ted, miracles like that are everyday work.

There is no better place to park your pup than Cottonwood should you be heading out of town for the off season like us. (Yes, it is that time.)

Pet Food to help Feed Our Pets:

Second Chance Humane Society has initiated a great new way for you to support homeless pets through the PetFlow pet food delivery program. The program partners with animal shelters to generate revenue for daily operations, which translates to $30 to Second Chance for every household that signs up (no contracts or commitments) for the free delivery service through our website. It is that easy!

What’s more, PetFlow offers an abundance of quality pet product choices at great prices. Check out the PetFlow website to review the vast variety of foods, treats, toys, accessories, and litter which can all be delivered to your door for free (on all orders over $49).  The company also offer great weekly specials with discounts of up to 80% or more. So you can save time and money while supporting Second Chances!

To place your first order, go to the bottom right column of the Second Chance website and click on our adoptable pets page. Please make sure you start the ordering process via that link (which directs you to the PetFlow website) to be sure Second Chance gets the $30 kickback. (Failing to go through our website means our donation will not occur.)

I tested out the program for the past several months to make sure the offer is something we want to recommend to our cherished supporters. My experience has been very positive and the program is easy to use. I also want to add that not having to haul large bags of pet food from store to home all the time has great value unto itself.

Once you create an account, you can quickly set up periodic shipments of products your pets use regularly. You can also easily change shipment dates according to need. If you are not satisfied with the program, simply cancel your membership at any time. Second Chance still profits from $30 from your first order!

Now our pets of the week, Rex and Fae, who would like to say a few closing words…

Rex

Rex

REX:

Rex likes to Rap so this is what he came up with:

They call me Rex – I do cool tricks – I chase big sticks – I give you licks. I need a home – don’t wanna be alone – need some love – won’t you give me some? Word.

FAE:

Fae

Fae

My name is Fae. With much more dignity than Rapper Rex, I will simply share the fact that I may be shy at first, but I am first and foremost a family cat who hopes to find my new family shortly.

In the meantime, I do hope you will take a few moments to look into this win-win pet supplies program and place an order to test it out.

Promise, it will be purrfect for your pet needs.
