SUNDAY AT THE PALM: “CHIMPANZEE”

chimpanzee-poster jpegCelebrate Earth Week with Disneynature’s “Chimpanzee” documentary, narrated by Tim Allen.

“Oscar” is a young chimp who explores his habitat and hunts for fruits, nuts and ants with his forest tribe.  After the loss of his mother, “Isha,” Oscar tries to find connection with a new family and eventually develops a strong bond with the leader of the group, “Freddy,” who takes Oscar in. In an unlikely scenario, the alpha male lets young Oscar ride on his back (something that generally only the mothers do) and the two form a lasting bond.

Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”).
