As Telluride’s summer season inches ever closer, Ah Haa is gearing up for a season packed full of children’s art immersion camps, interesting classes for adults, and a plethora of special events for every age. And with a new, re-vamped website, featuring beautiful photos, instructor biographies, everything you need to know about your next class, registering online is easier than ever.

Kids’ Four-day Youth Art Camps and Fabulous Friday classes launch the week of June 10 and run through August 16. Each day, Ah Haa offers morning and afternoon sessions for ages 4-9+ in everything from clay and painting to fiber arts, printmaking, and theater. Sign up now for tuition assistance. Scholarship opportunities are going fast.

imageAdult classes are now live at ahhaa.org. Aside from this summer’s Visiting Artist Programs (featuring classes in encaustic painting, printmaking, collage, pastel, plein air oil, and photography), a few early-season highlights include Swing Dancing (Mondays, June 24 & July 1), Soldering Basics (Sunday, June 30), A Day of Reading and Writing with Rumi (Monday, July 1), and Robert Weatherford’s “Painting From Within” drop-in class (Mondays & Wednesdays, June 24-August 28).

Brand new at Ah Haa this season is a series of wine tastings, cooking classes and exclusive dinners in private homes, led by talented local chefs and wine experts. Bryan Thames kicks of the culinary series with his “Blind Tasting 101” on Friday, June 14 at Over the Moon. He is followed by Johnny file0001019265291Gerona’s Tuesday, June 25, Traditional Spanish Cuisine: Tapas and Paella cooking class at his new Village Table restaurant in Mountain Village.

Learn more about Ah Haa’s exciting summer season at its Summer Kickoff Party and Open House on Friday, June 14, 5 – 8 p.m. There you will find live art demonstrations by several of this summer’s instructors and an exhibition of art by Ah Haa’s summer faculty, plus food and fun for all ages.
