Meat vs Veg: How does a vegetarian diet stack up?

I trawl in the Internet daily. That’s part of my day job as editor-in-chief of Telluride Inside…and Out. But only recently, and in large part thanks to our Digital Marketer, Jim Berkowitz, I have started to post stories that I think have universal appeal, such as this article about a vegetarian diet versus the alternative. I found the story in The Conversation, written by Surinder Baines, associate profession in nutrition and dietetics at the University of Newcastle. Clearly the subject has grown way more complicated than an apple a day.

“Ethical and environmental considerations are often the prompt for adopting a meat-free diet. But better health may also push some towards vegetarianism, with a new study showing vegetarians have a lower risk of premature death than their meat-eating counterparts.
