Telluride Medical Center: 2 New Docs Added to the Team

The Telluride Medical Center (TMC) announced this month two new doctors to the Emergency and Primary Care teams, Dr. Simon Kotylar, MD, and Dr. Heather Linder, MD.

Dr. Kotlyar, board certified in emergency medicine, brings 10 years experience working in a high acuity Level-I trauma center. Dr. Linder specializes in preventative medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, integrative medicine, global health and wilderness medicine.

Dr. Kotlyar joins TMC from the Yale University School of Medicine, where he was Assistant Professor and Director of Global Health in the department of emergency medicine. He ran the Global Health and International Emergency Medicine fellowship there and was on faculty at Yale for five years. He completed his medical degree at Ben Gurion University in Israel and his internship and residency training in emergency medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Kotlyar holds a masters degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and completed the UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine at the Madigan Army Medical Center.

Dr. Linder is a board certified family medicine physician. She received her undergraduate degree in biology and environmental studies at Franklin and Marshall College. Dr. Linder studied abroad in Kenya researching human-wildlife conflicts, and subsequently deferred medical school for a year to research medicinal plants in East Africa.

After returning to the U.S. for medical school, Dr. Linder graduated with honors from Penn State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine in Seattle. During residency, she completed additional training in integrative medicine, specifically nutrition and mind body medicine.
