Telluride Theatre & Town: Focus on Bear Safety

Telluride Theatre & Town: Focus on Bear Safety

imagesBEAR IT! Tuesday, September 10 & Wednesday, September 11 @ 8p.m. FREE @ The Fly Me To The Moon Saloon

In 2009 and 2010, “BEAR IT!” an original show created by Telluride Theatre, was played to SOLD OUT Telluride audiences… Now it’s back by popular demand for 2013.

Every year, the Town of Telluride’s Black Bear Awareness Week teaches the community about our furry, intelligent neighbors and ways to stay safe in black bear country. Staffers approached Telluride Theatre to write a play for the adult community to educate and enlighten through entertainment.

Karen Guglielmone, Public Works manager for the Town of Telluride says this:

“We know that two bears are out in town and they are behaving badly – a very large black colored bear and a less large (but large nonetheless) cinnamon-colored bear. I understand that our citizens are confronting them to chase them out of town. I am concerned that someone will end up getting injured. Let’s all be smart! Let’s all be safe!…  And at Bear It!, let’s all have some fun, too!”

BEAR IT! Bear Safety for the 21st Century”is part forest rangers, part revival, part musical, part bears (and much much more…) This is a MUST SEE show!

“BEAR IT!” is free and open to the public. As always, donations are encouraged. (A hat will be passed.)
