Sheridan Opera House Presents McConkey Film

With the snow already falling and skiers carving fresh tracks into the hill, it’s time to get fired up for winter. The Sheridan Opera House’s presentation of the ski film McConkey on Thursday, November 14th, is the perfect way to do so.

RBMH_MCCONKEY_POSTER_EMAIL_low copyMcConkey is a heartfelt examination of the legacy one athlete left to the progression of his sports, and the path he paved to conquer his dreams. Shane McConkey is revered as a pioneer of freeskiing and ski-BASE jumping, and through his talent and ability to use his trademark irreverent humor he inspired countless lives. Featuring incredible action footage and Shane’s own home videos, McConkey offers a rare look at his most intense risks as well as an intimate portrait of his personal life. Through interviews with friends, family, and other action sports legends, the film celebrates Shane and the way he lived. A film from Red Bull Media House in association with Matchstick Productions, McConkey celebrates the life of one of the world’s ultimate innovators.

John DeFore of The Hollywood Reporter describes McKonkey as “A daredevil subject who will quickly endear himself even to viewers who’ve never heard his name,” while Micah Abrams of ESPN.com  says “If you’ve never seen McConkey tackle massive Alaskan peaks with just a handful of critically executed super-G turns or soar off thousand-foot Norwegian fjords into freefall, your understanding of what’s possible will be rewired.”

Show starts at the Sheridan Opera House at 5:30pm and at 8:00pm. Doors 30 minutes prior to show time. Film attendees have a chance to win prizes and gear. Tickets can be purchased on the Sheridan Opera House website:  for $15 with no added ticketing fees; tickets will also be available at the door.
