Mountain Film: “The Armstrong Lie,” 12/26

promo_longMountainfilm is pleased to present a special screening of one of this year’s best feature documentaries, “The Armstrong Lie.”

The film, produced by Frank Marshall and directed by Alex Gibney, is on the Oscar shortlist for Best Documentary for 2013. “The Armstrong Lie” is currently screening limited engagements in select cities, only. Please join Mountainfilm for the Telluride premiere at the historic Sheridan Opera House.

In 2008, Academy Award winning filmmaker Alex Gibney set out to make a documentary about the comeback of Lance Armstrong — widely regarded as one of the most prominent figures in the history of sports — to the world of competitive cycling.

Charting Armstrong’s life-story, Gibney began filming what he initially envisioned as the ultimate comeback story. An unprecedented scandal, however, would rewrite both the Armstrong legend and Gibney’s film.

“The Armstrong Lie’ emerges as a riveting insider’s view, chronicling the collapse of one of the greatest legends of our time,” as Lance Armstrong tells Gibney’s camera: “I didn’t live a lot of lies, but I lived one big one.”

The program is a benefit screening for Mountainfilm in Telluride. If you cannot attend but would like to support Mountainfilm’s non-profit mission, please donate here.

Any and all contributions are most welcome. Thank you!
