Forrest Yoga at Telluride Yoga Center

Home page1About 20 million Americans are doing it. Are you one of them? If yes, do you want to deepen the relationship you are building with yourself, one definition of yoga. If no, isn’t it time to begin a practice?

One of the primary purposes of yoga is to bring about positive change through a close relationship with a teacher, a highly trained individual who celebrates the fact that each one of us is unique.

Someone like Allison English.

Beginning Friday, January 24, 2014 (4:30 – 6:30 p.m.), and continuing through the weekend, Saturday, January 25 (9 a.m.- 5 p.m., with an mid-afternoon break and Sunday, January 26, (9 – 11 a.m.), Senior Forrest Yoga instructor Allison English returns to town to lead a series of workshops at the Telluride Yoga Center designed support your physical development, mental awareness, energetic transformations, and personal evolution. All the things that shape our growth.

Through grounding standing poses, centering abdominal play, pranayama, conscious intent, and exploring how to embody Spirit, you will learn how to support yourself from the inside out in simple yet profound ways based on the pillars of Forrest Yoga: Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit. Because Allison is a teacher who understands how to adapt a practice to meet the needs of whoever shows up on the mat, even pregnant woman and people with injuries, the weekend is accessible to all comers.

Known for her sequencing, hands on assists, and humor, Allison brings over a decade of teaching experience to Forrest Yoga, a healing method of practicing in the tradition. (She recently began working with new clients to add yoga to their cancer treatments.)

Allison English found yoga as a teen while recovering from figure skating injuries and stayed with her practice through a dizzying array of life experiences. Her spiritual path led Allison to Forrest Yoga first and she fell in love with the methodology of practicing, teaching, and healing. That was 15 years ago and she hasn’t looked back.

In July, Allison was a returning presenter at the 6th annual Telluride Yoga Festival, where her students were guided to set personal healing intents, strengthen connections to their core, consciously deepen the flow of their breath, and play with the power of practice to transform. She returns in July for the 7th annual Yoga Fest, so you might consider this winter workshop a great way to warm up for an even deeper experience this summer (July 10 – July 13. 2014).

In fact, once Allison has left, you can continue to practice under her guidance by downloading her award-winning app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/yoga+travel/id630781473?mt=8
