More Information: Travis Julia Presents and the Sheridan Arts Foundation screens Greg Stump’s legendary film “The Blizzard of Aahh’s” on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014. Stump’s monumental tour-de-force changed everything for ski and adventure films. Considered the “Citizen Kane” of ski films, “Blizzard” was responsible for provoking and inspiring a generation of skiers and filmmakers alike. Skiing Magazine listed Stump as on of the 25 most influential people in skiing of all time. The movie has also generated awards from other publications such as Powder, Ski and Skiing magazine.

In 1988, Greg Stump released his fifth ski movie, “The Blizzard of Ahhh’s.” The film was responsible for establishing extreme skiing, along with extreme skiers Glenn Plake and Scott Schmidt as the rivalry to watch. It introduced American audiences to the awe of France’s Chamoix Ski Valley, while documenting the Squaw Valley ski scene. The film artfully weaves amazing skiing unseen prior to its release and beautiful scenery set to a desirable sound track the likes of which the industry had never heard before.

“Blizzard” includes classic Telluride ski scenes featuring local legends Scott Kennett and wonder dog Zudnik ripping up the moguls on Chair 9 and former Telluride Town Councilman Rasta Stevie’s epic diatribe on consciences. To celebrate its 25th winter season, the Sheridan Opera House screens this legendary movie with special guests, including Kennett.

Bootdoctors Paragon will be sponsors the film and provide free schwag and door prizes.

If you’ve never seen “The Blizzard of Aahhh’s” or have seen it 100 times, don’t miss this very special opportunity to watch on the big screen.

The Sheridan Arts Foundation was founded in 1991 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization to preserve the historic Sheridan Opera House as an arts and cultural resource for the Telluride community, to bring quality arts and cultural events to Telluride and to provide local and national youth with access and exposure to the arts through education. The Sheridan Arts Foundation is sponsored in part by grants from the Telluride Foundation, CCAASE, CCI & El Pomar.

Ed. note: You and I know that the word in the title (AAHH’s) is plural, not possessive, but TIO will let all apostrophes (not apostrophe’s) stand.
