Reflections on the 7th Annual Festival

We’ve all heard Yoga Fest is amazing and everyone has seen the groups of smiling (and buff) devotees sporting yoga mat carriers on the gondola. Clearly there is truly something for everyone? But what exactly is it that makes the Telluride Yoga Festival different than the other mega-yoga festivals out there? Why is Telluride so unique?

Check out this article by Lauren Maslen from Shakti Yogi Journal. The story captures so much about who Yoga Fest is and why you too might want to experience the magic.

From Give Back Yoga Foundation’s founder Beryl Bender Birch, a Telluride favorite:

“A huge thank you to Telluride Yoga Festival for stepping up to help us bring therapeutic #yoga to veterans and military personnel! Thanks to the festival’s organizers, every presenter and participant who attends the Veterans, Trauma & Treatment Conference at Omega Institute next month will be receiving a free copy of our co-founder Beryl Bender Birch’s new book “Yoga For Warriors,” — a practice guide designed to help service members and veterans find their way as warriors, and adapt to a peaceful life at home. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share this new resource with healthcare professionals, psychologists, social workers, caregivers and counselors who are working with veterans who are coping with post-traumatic stress.”

And there’s more: Telluride Yoga Festival is also supporting Give Back Yoga by managing the shipping of 500 mats generously donated by Aspen Yoga Mats in support of yoga therapy for veterans and service members.”
