Zach Deputy wowed audiences at the 2014 Telluride Blues and Brews Festival with his island infused, drum ‘n’ bass, and gospel-Ninja-soul, which he loops all on his own on stage.

This dynamic performer draws on his Puerto Rican-Irish-Africa-British-French-Cherokee background to create music that is mind-blowingly diverse and refreshingly new. He started looping during his live shows years ago when his bass player didn’t show up for a gig and he hasn’t looked back. His sets are multi-layered, rhythmic wonders. And no two sets are alike. As Deputy explains: “I never want to get bored with myself.”

The charismatic performer tours incessantly and when he’s not onstage, he can be found pursuing his other passion: disc golf. He’s even a spokesman for the sport, serving as Celebrity Ambassador for Innova Discs and hosts the Zach Deputy Disc Jam, a music and disc golf festival in Florida, now in its second year. We like how this guy rolls. No chance of boredom here.

After a quiet Mardi Gras last year with no live music, SBG Productions President Steve Gumble approached the Sheridan Arts Foundation staff about co-producing a Mardi Gras evening and it was a no-brainer for event director Ronnie Palamar.

“I speak for many when I say that Deputy’s performance at this past Blues & Brews was one of the most memorable of the weekend,” said Gumble. “We’re excited to have him back in such an intimate setting like the Opera House.”

Doors open at 8:30 p.m.; show time is 9 p.m. with no opening act. Tickets are on-sale now by calling 728.6363 ext. 5 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday or online here.
