TFF: Tuesdays At The Palm
The Telluride Film Festival, Palm Arts, and the Telluride School District join forces in an effort to bring great cinema to students and their families, as well as to the community of Telluride. The long-running Sunday at the Palm series was revamped and rescheduled and has become Tuesdays at the Palm. These screenings are still FREE to ALL, and will now take place one Tuesday of each month during the school year, 2:15 p.m. at the Michael D. Palm Theatre for the Performing Arts. The series begins Tuesday, February 28, with animated shorts from the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival.
Tuesdays are early release days at the school and Palm Arts directors requested assistance from the Telluride Film Festival to help fill this gap for families.
“It is a huge help when kids have something educational, fun and engaging to do after school,” explained Kathy Jepson, Palm Director, and so Tuesdays at the Palm was born.
The Telluride Film Festival will program the series and work closely with Palm Arts staff to present the finest fare for all kids and kids-at-heart.
The first delightful program on February 28 includes the most current international animated gems including CATCH IT (France), MOOM (US/Japan), FIRST SNOW (Czech Republic), SPRING JAM (New Zealand), and others!
“For more than 30 years, the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival has set new standards for what children’s festivals can achieve. As the largest and longest running children’s film program in North America, the Festival discovers the best in world cinema and continually raises the bar for quality children’s programming,” said Erika Gordon of Telluride Film Fest.
All students and community members are invited to attend.
