The Telluride Film Festival and Palm Arts are pleased to present the highly anticipated animated film from the Academy Award®-nominated writers and directors of “A Cat In Paris,” a movie that received wonderful local feedback after its 2013 screening at the Palm.
“Phantom Boy” is a stylish noir caper, set in the shadowy streets and alleyways of New York. The film is about a young boy named Leo who is hospitalized for a mysterious illness. Confined to his bed, Leo discovers that he has a secret: he is able to leave his body and explore the vast city in the form of a ghostly apparition.
While he is in the hospital, Leo befriends a New York City cop named Alex who was injured while attempting to capture a dangerous and nefarious gangster. Now they must form an extraordinary duo, using Leo’s phantom powers and Alex’s detective work to foil the criminal’s plot and save New York from destruction.
The film is made possible with help from Gkids, a New York City-based distributor who specializes in the presentation of the world’s finest children’s cinema and works generously with the Telluride Film Festival to bring fantastic films to the region throughout the year.
