TFF Cinematheque: “Y Tu Mama Tambien,” 6/13

Telluride Film Festival Cinematheque is a collaboration between the Telluride Film Festival and Wilkinson Public Library. The next screening in the Road Trip Series is “Y Tu Mama Tambien.” (Rated R.) Tuesday, June 13, 6 p.m. Free to all. Scroll down to watch the trailer.

The Telluride Film Festival and Wilkinson Public Library’s Cinematheque film series, Road Trip!, concludes in June with the Oscar-nominated Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN, written and directed by Telluride Film Festival guest Alfonso Cuarón (GRAVITY, 2013), and featuring Gael Garcia Bernal (TFF 2012- NO; 2014 – ROSEWATER; 2016 – NERUDA).

Directed by Alfonso Cuaron and co-written by his brother, Carlos, the film is “about two teenage boys and an impulsive journey with an older woman that involves sexual discoveries. But it is also about the two Mexicos,” wrote Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times. “And, it is about the fragility of life and the finality of death. Beneath the carefree road movie the movie is happy to advertise is a more serious level–and below that, a dead serious level.”

As always, Cinematheque is free and open to the public and takes place in the library’s Program Room theater.

Bring your wanderlust. It’s time to hit the road.

Hosted by Seth Cagin.
