13 Mar Telski: Second Rail Jam of Season
Spring is in the air and Telluride Ski Resort’s second Rail Jam of the season is coming up on Saturday, March 15. Local outfitters Bootdoctors/Paragon Sports and Telluride Sports are teaming up with Telluride Ski Resort to present an evening of sick tricks featuring local talent, who will show what they’ve got in an open-format rail jam competition. If the flips, spins, and rail slides aren’t enough to entertain, spectators will be entertained by a live DJ and have a chance to win awesome prizes of their own.
“These events have been fun for competitors and spectators alike, and the shops and mountain staff are pumped to put this on,” said Heidi Lauterbach, Sponsorships Manager, Telluride Ski Resort. “We’re thrilled to see these events continue to grow, and to have Telluride Sports join the mix.”
Bootdoctors in Mountain Village will host registration again from noon– 2 p.m. Saturday, the day of the event. Registration is $15 per person, cash or check only, and those under 18 must have a signature from a parent or legal guardian to participate. Practice on the course will run from 3 p.m.– 4:30 p.m. with the Boys and Girls ski & snowboard competition beginning immediately after. Men’s and Women’s ski heat will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Men’s and Women’s snowboard heat. An awards ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. in front of Tomboy Tavern.
“Telluride Sports and Alternative Edge found this to be a great opportunity to be involved in the Rail Jam. We are providing some prizes including snowboards for adult and kid, custom foot beds from T-Sports, lots of swag & maybe a couple surprises,” said Nathan Frerichs, Sales and Marketing Manager for Telluride Sports. “It’s going to be a really fun event, and I can’t wait to see who will be really going for it on Saturday.”
Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place in all categories, thanks to Icelantic, Zeal, GoPro, Telluride Sports, Bootdoctors/Paragon Sports and many others!
