Here’s the deal on this unique deal: You clean out. Three local nonprofits clean up.

Gear swap

The 1st Annual Spring Gear Swap takes place this weekend, Friday May 30 – Sunday, June 1 at the Telluride High School Cafeteria. The event is a fundraiser for three local nonprofits: Telluride AcademyTelluride Adaptive Sports, Eco Action and Eco Action Partners.

What you can sell: Used camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, pads, camp stoves, etc.), clothing, jewelry, small appliances, art, furniture, electronics. Just like a garage sale.

What won’t fly: Old (non flat screen) TVs or large appliance such as stoves, paint or any hazardous material. And out of respect of KOTO’s annual ski swap, no winter ski gear either.

Further details are as follows:

Pick up sale tags prior to the event at the Telluride Academy Offices located at the bottom on lift 7 OR pick them up when you drop off your items for sale. Write your name and phone number CLEARLY on each tag, the item description, the price. And remember this is a garage sale, so price to sell.

When filling out the tag, you can select to donate 100% of the sale of the item, OR if not noted as a 100% Donation, when your item sells, you will receive 80% of the sale price and donate 20%.

Bring your items for the garage sale to the High School Cafeteria on Friday, May 30, 3:30-6 p.m. If that time doesn’t work  into your schedule, arrangements can be made to drop everything off  at the Academy office any time prior to the weekend and the Academy will deliver to the high school.

The Garage Sale will be open to the public Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 1, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Pick up your check for the items you sell (and any items that didn’t sell which you want back) on Sunday between 2:30-3:30 p.m.

All items not picked up by 3:30 p.m. will be regarded as donations and sold to the public from 4-5p.m. at 50% off the listed price with ALL profits from the FLASH sales going towards helping to pay for event expenses such as advertising, cafeteria rental, food for volunteers, supplies etc.

All items not picked up by 3:30 p.m. and/or not sold during the Flash Sale will be packed up and donated to Habitat for Humanity.
