ALACAZEM 2014.10.23

October 23 to 30, 2014    Visible planets: Morning: Jupiter    Evening: Mars, Saturn

bunkhouse Yesterday I was overwhelmed by the amazing, awesome power and beauty of the Mother Earth. I had worked most of the day inside, well aware that Indian Summer was blazing outside. Days so precious; no wind, warm, warm sunshine and blue, blue skies, glowing yellow cottonwoods and shimmering aspen, the oaks now orange and crimson. The grass surrounding our house is still green, green, green, but the leaves are starting to fall, covering the walkways golden.

Around 4:30 pm, I came out of our bunkhouse and took in the magnificent day. There was something funny about the light. And then I realized, the Sun was in partial eclipse. The light was magical eclipse light, light that is only present when the Sun is being partially eclipsed by the Moon.

Fortunately, due to unusual circumstance, I was with Nancy, a longtime girlfriend and fellow astrologer. We remembered that yes, the eclipse was happening right then and there. Suddenly my husband Richard showed up with our three dogs from their late afternoon walk. He suggested we take a look through one of his welding helmets. Yippee! I had forgotten all about the helmets.

imagesStanding outside his shop, looking west, with welding helmets on our heads, we were able to see the partially eclipsing Sun. Whoppee! Fun. The Moon had taken a big bite out of the bright, bright, brilliant disc of the Sun. We watched for a while, and saw what we wanted to see, and then let it be, eclipse light shining oblique sunrays across the mesa.

I can’t explain how I feel during an eclipse. I always wonder if others feel as I do, or at least something close. I flash on all the eons of human starwatching, stargazing and starlore. Centuries of watching the Sun and Moon eclipse. As an astrologer, I know that solar eclipses are especially powerful new Moons, when the three billion megawatts of electromagnetic energy emitted from the Sun to Earth each day is temporarily disrupted, intercepted by the Moon. Gravitational pulls increase, old matrices dissolve and new pathways open.

sunflower girls2Today I am walking a new walk, seeing a new Earth. Yesterday I could feel and breathe the Mother. I saw her magnificent beauty, her feminine wisdom, her fertile abundance. Nurtured and held tight by her powerful gravitational pull, I am home. The fields yesterday were like a beautiful blonde, with streaks of ashe and amber, platinum and strawberry. The sky ablaze with red, orange and purple, behind my summertime girlfriend sunflowers, kissed me with its grandeur and grace.

Sweet home Colorado. May we be blessed with peace, happiness and prosperity. Y vaya con la diosa…con el amor y corazon de la Tierra Madre.
