Mountaineer Alex Lowe once said, “The best climber in the world is the one who’s having the most fun.”

The Telluride Mountain Club (TMtC) invites the community to bring the fun indoors at the Telluride High School Winter Indoor Climbing Gym. The Gym provides local climbers and aspiring climbers with the opportunity to work on their skills and meet future climbing partners during the winter season. The Gym will be open for the 2014/2015 winter season from November 30, 2014-April 5, 2015, on Sundays, Tuesday and Thursdays from 6 –9 p.m.

Located at the Telluride High School (721 West Colorado Avenue, doors left to the Palm Theatre), the Gym includes roped climbs (30′ up) and rated bouldering problems. Difficulty of bouldering problems is beginner to advanced. Routes are changed throughout the season by experienced route setters.

Other than ropes, climbers must provide their own equipment. Signed liability release forms and payment must be provided at the time of participation. Climbers may pay at the door or online by creating a profile through telluridemountainclub.frontdeskhq.com.

Admission is $5 per night. NEW this year, climbers can purchase a 10-punch pass for $45 ($5 saving). Climbers also may purchase a 30 Day Pass for $35 ($25 for TMtC member), or a Season Pass for $130 ($100 for TMtC members). A Month Pass is valid from the first day used and for 30 consecutive days following. A Season Pass is valid November 30, 2014 to April 5, 2015 every night the gym is open.

The Indoor Climbing Gym is a service made available to the community through the Telluride Mountain Club, a non-profit formed to provide access advocacy and services to the Telluride region. Discover more or become a member through their website at telluridemountainclub.org.

About Telluride Mountain Club (TMtC):

Originally conceived as an avalanche-education organization in 1985, the Telluride Mountain Club (TMtC) evolved towards access advocacy and promoting responsible, safe backcountry travel and recreation. For those that enjoy hiking, backcountry touring, climbing and/or exploring the San Juan Mountains, we encourage our alpine community to join TMtC to build a stronger, better and more cohesive group.
