Noel Nite: “Big Hero 6,” Free at Nugget

Part of the Noel Night  celebration, the kick-off of the holiday season in Telluride, the Telluride Film Festival and the Formbys (who own the Nugget Building) present Nugget Nights, a free family movie for the community on Wednesday, December 3 and Thursday, December 4. As part of the celluloid party, the Formbys once again (this is the ninth years in a row) plan to donate $10 for each popcorn purchased (any size) to Angel Baskets, which, since 1981, over the holidays provides food, clothing and necessities to those in our extended community (San Miguel County, west end of Montrose and Dove Creek) who are struggling financially.

“Big Hero 6” is a 2014 computer-animated comedy-superhero film created and produced at Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name by Man of Action. “Big Hero 6”  is the 54th Disney animated feature and Disney’s first animated feature film  based on characters from Marvel Entertainment, which The Walt Disney Company acquired in 2009. “Big Hero 6” was recently released in November 2014.

“Big Hero 6 “ is an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter). When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (T.J. Miller). Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a team of high-tech heroes called Big Hero 6.
