Noel Night Gallery Events: Overview

According to Telluride Arts, Noel Night (December 3) gallery events take place between 5 – 8 p.m.

On Noel Night, Telluride retailers host an evening of great discounts, food, drinks, and more fun. Also participating on this annual festive occasion are local galleries. Enjoy opening receptions and discounts on fine art work.

Ah Haa School for the Arts will be CLOSED on Noel Night, but the next day, Thursday, December 4, 5:30pm – 7pm the public is invited to an opening reception for Telluride Painting School‘s student exhibition.

Nestled in the phenomenal landscape of the San Juan Mountains, the Telluride Painting School is a unique program of excellence that encourages artists and students of all levels to find their artistic voice through the creation of deeply meaningful and uniquely personal work. This intensive program offers instruction from and interaction with a diverse faculty of working painters inspiring curiosity and innovation in a stimulating and supportive environment.

After a month of collecting cell phone photo contest submissions from the greater Telluride community, the eye-popping exhibit of the local splendor will opens on Noel Night.

Join Telluride Arts and your fellow contest participants for a wide range of takes on the always camera-ready local scenery, plus refreshments and prizes.

Note: all participants have photos in the show. Contest winners will be announced during the reception. All photos are available for purchase at $10 and make great holiday gifts.

On Noel Night, Lustre premieres the Zoltan David jewelry collection and is honored to be the first Colorado gallery to represent this innovative precious jewelry. Zoltan David says of his jewelry: “It’s half engineering and half fantasy.”

In addition to the collection, Lustre offers grab bag discounts from 10%-30% all day long. Refreshments served après ski.

Noel Night marks the opening of Dean Rolley’s new photography exhibit.

Rolley has had a successful career in television and film production, contributing his skills to local programming via Public Access TV, as well as to the creation of local documentaries, such as”The XY Factor,” “We Skied It,” and “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Hammer,” a film about historic building restoration.

And while its true Rolley’s focus has always been film, his stills of the local scene are equally inspiring.

(Dean will be signing his 2015 calendar at Mélange on December 3. A portion of proceeds will go to support Telluride Arts)

MiXX is the newest addition to Telluride’s creative arts district. (And it is located across the street from Jagged Edge)

Mixx projects + atelier is an art gallery, lifestyle boutique, and collaborative space featuring emerging creatives, artisan home products, and inventive jewelry. Its evolving space shows art like a gallery, but the space is designed to be a gathering place for happenings and presents a collection of inspired and functional art.

The Steaming Bean, 221 West Colorado Avenue

On Noel Night, The Steaming Bean offers specialty espresso drinks, hot chocolate, local hand-blended tea and craft cocktails.

The Bean is proud also hosts local photographer, Sarah Schwab in a show entitled, “Encounter.” The work encompasses a five-year time span and represents an array of cities, states, and hemispheres. Through these images, Schwab explores Planet Earth with an open and honest curiosity and touches on the unique ideas and journeys of its inhabitants.

Telluride Arts kicks off the winter season at Stronghouse Studios + Gallery with a multi-media exhibit featuring paintings, drawings and jewelry. The show is entitled “Sticks + Stones.” Art imitates life in a collection that presents a meditation on the natural world as seen through the disparate perspectives of three artists: Meredith Nemirov, from Ridgway, Susan Makara, from Virginia, and Susan L. Hutton, from Maine.

Opening reception Noel Night, Wednesday, December 3, from 5-8pm.

New Year’s Art Walk party on Friday, January 2, from 5-8pm.

The Telluride Gallery of Fine Art, 130 East Colorado Avenue

As always, TGFA’s participation in Noel Night fathers grab bag jewelry and discounts up to 30% off. During Noel Night, local jeweler Sue Hill will be in attendance for a trunk show. Hill’s wide collection of jewelry shows her mastery in beadwork and silversmithing. She has been represented at TGFA for over 20 years.

Also to thank the Telluride community for 30 years of support, Telluride Gallery of Fine Art is exhibiting a collection of artwork at ver special discounts. Included are works on paper, paintings, photography, woodturnings, studio jewelry and ceramics..

(This group show will be up through mid-December. Open until 9pm.)
