Dolce: Holiday Fine Jewelery Show

Dolce: Holiday Fine Jewelery Show

When you are five years old, the bigger the box the better the present. Over 20, not so much. Still recovering from that vacuum cleaner you gave her? A present should confer pleasure. Not remind her of her shortcomings. Think a gift of flowers would do the trick? Pay close attention to Dorothy Parker’s ditty, “One Perfect Rose”: “Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine do you suppose?”

Or a fine piece of jewelry.

From hunks of junk to the Hope diamond, jewelry remains the ne plus ultra of gifts for the ladies.

Fine jewelry designers Anahita and Massimo Izzo are featured at Dolce through January 3.

Based in New York City, and an architect by trade, Anahita Stein made the transition in 2000 to jewelry,  combining her design skills, personal experiences, and heritage.

Born in Iran and raised in Europe and the United States, Anahita is influenced by the images and motifs of ancient Persia, as well as the places she has lived and traveled. Her architectural background and inspirations have also inspired her to create decisively modern and feminine jewelry in 18 karat yellow gold with diamonds, cognac diamonds, and other muted and richly colored gemstones.

Italian fine jeweler Massimo Izzo’s line is inspired by his Sicilian heritage and Mediterranean culture in general. Using a combination of of diamonds, raw aquamarine, morganite, lavender jade, and orange coral mixed with white, rose and yellow gold, his line reflects a fantasy world of mystical sea creatures, of astonishing colors and enthralling shapes.
