Fans everywhere can witness the greatest riders compete throughout the season by tuning in to the HD Live Webcast on SubaruFreerideSeries.com.

“Winning the overall on the Freeskiing World Tour or Masters of Snowboarding is the ultimate test in big mountain and puts you among the ranks of the worlds best, like Ingrid & Ralph Backstrom, Matt Annetts, and Hugo Harrisson to name a few.” said Bryan Barlow, Freeride Series Event Director. “Being able to put together a championship year takes a healthy amount  of  nerve, skill, and sheer determination. I can’t wait to see this year unfold and who will be deservedly crowned champs of 2015!”

At each stop of the SFS, athletes will accumulate points by riding the most technical, fluid and impressive line. The riders’ combined scores at the end of the season will determine the Freeskiing World Tour and the Masters of Snowboarding Champions for both men and women, which are the most coveted championships in big mountain freeride competition.

Many of greatest big mountain athletes are former competitors and champions including Drew Tabke, Shane McConkey, Angel Collinson, Travis Rice, Rob Kingwell, Wendy Fisher, Nick Greener, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Shannan Yates and many more. Lars Chickering-Ayers will be returning to Snowbird for the first competition to defend his title.

At each location a Backcountry.com Sickbird Award winner will be named by sheer wow factor and exuding the spirit of freeride. The Sickbird winner rides with confidence and consistency throughout their run to bring the crowd to its feet.

The Subaru Freeride Series represents the fusion of the Freeskiing World Tour and Masters of Snowboarding. The Freeskiing World Tour (FWT) is the oldest competitive big mountain freeskiing tour in the history of the sport, producing the world’s premier open big mountain skiing competitions at the most respected mountains in North and South America. Founded in 1998, the FWT, created and produced by Mountain Sports International, Inc. (MSI), is heading into its 18th year. MSI, in partnership with The North Face, also founded the Masters of Snowboarding in 2008, which was the first competitive snowboarding tour specifically tailored to pioneer the sport of Big Mountain Snowboarding. Dedicated to athletes, quality, culture, competition, freeride history and sport progression, the Subaru Freeride Series will host five stops for skiers and snowboarders at North America’s top big mountain venues in 2015 and one in South America.
