More Information: The SAFYPT presents “This is a Test” a one-act play by Stephen Gregg. Performed by 13 YPT actors in grades 9-12, “This is A Test” is a comedic nightmare about the pressures of school, tests, college acceptance, competitive classmates and general teenage angst.  (In other words, it’s about what the actors are going through right now!)

“I love this play for my young actors because it mirrors many aspects of their current lives, while giving them a chance to explore the subject artistically.  This is a non-traditional play that utilizes lots of wild and funny stage conventions–perfect material for the YPT!” explains artistic director Jennifer Julia.

The play follows Alice, a high school senior who is struggling to prepare for a very important test. On testing day the nightmare begins: the teacher is crazy, the other kids are blatantly cheating, and the essay questions are in Chinese!  On top of all that, there’s a chorus of “voices” inside Alice’s head that continually torment her with songs, criticism, and random rants.  Will Alice pass the test and get into the top college of her choice?  You’ll have to see the show to find out!
