June 25 to July 2, 2015  Visible planets: Morning: Mercury Evening: Venus, Jupiter, Saturn

WEBvic15_June01evvenus jupiter1If you haven’t noticed the celestial event happening in the western twilight sky for the entire month of June, perhaps it’s time to take a look.

Our solar system’s two most brilliant and easily identifiable planets – beautiful Venus and magnanimous Jupiter – have been dancing above the western horizon at dusk, and on into evening for weeks. And it has been magnificent.

WEBvic15_June06evVenus and Jupiter come together in what is called a planetary conjunction approximately once a year, but due to perpetually changing astronomical conditions, including time of day and the astronomical location of each planet in its orbit around the Sun, views from Earth range from being not visible, too early in the morning for most people to see and spectacular. And this one is spectacular.

WEBvic15_June13evI have been watching Venus – the ancient goddess of love and beauty – and Jupiter – the mythical god of gods – ever since I was a teenager. I have found them both to be faithful and loyal companions, spirit guides and beacons of light and inspiration on my road of life. I understand why the ancients felt the planets, or the “wandering stars,” were gods and goddesses keeping watch on us down here on Earth. I can feel divinity in the heavens. I can see eternity; the boundless, infinite blue-black canvas of deep space, sparkled with twinkling diamonds, points of light, shimmering and shining. Forever and always, it’s from where we came, where we are and to where we are going. The spiraling cycle of life; from dust to dust, from stardust to stardust…

WEBvic15_June20evAnd tonight and for several more nights, there are Venus and Jupiter, companion planets to your Mother Earth, caught in an intimate, divine embrace. In the same solar system and the same Milky Way Galaxy, with us all the way – day by day and night to night – on our journey through the cosmos. All light and bright and shining, shining, shining.

WEBvic15_June30evSo, be sure to take a look at Venus and Jupiter tonight, and for several nights, above the western horizon following sunset. They will be low and brilliant, shimmering and shining. And keep watching them as they move toward exact conjunction on the evening of Tuesday, June 30th when they will be 0.3° apart! Jupiter will be slightly above Venus and less bright. Venus is closer to Earth [48 million miles] and brighter. Jupiter is duller and further [565 million miles] from Earth, on the other side of the solar system. All light and bright and shining, shining, shining…

Aries (Mar. 20-Apr. 19) As Venus and Jupiter move ever closer in the western twilight sky, take note of what you feel in your heart. This very visible planetary conjunction of love [Venus] and magnanimity [Jupiter] is taking place in your solar 5th house of romance and creativity, sparking passion, stimulating desire and opening you to the multi-faceted possibilities of sharing and pairing. Much like a precious jewel, handle it with care.

Taurus (Apr. 19-May 20) Summer sizzles as sweet, seductive Venus – the Bull’s ruling planet – pairs up with happy-go-lucky, generous giant Jupiter, expanding personal boundaries and opening doors of spirit, compassion and love where family members and domestic issues are concerned. Somehow you see the magic behind the madness, the unique path each person travels and the ultimate freedom of acceptance. Embrace the peace of understanding.

Gemini (May 20-June 20) As you move into the second zodiac month of your solar year, embrace the freedom of self-responsibility. Understanding that we teach people how to treat us and that we are ultimately responsible for the quality and quantity of our personal life and relationships is authentically empowering. Victim mentalities simply create suffering and keep us stuck. Love and compassion are allies on the high road of spirit.

Cancer (June 20-July 22) Congratulations on another revolution around the Sun! It’s time to celebrate life in all its magic and magnificence. Consider what truly makes you feel good and prepare to let more of whatever that is into your head, heart and soul. Self-nurturing and self-care is often left by the wayside on the road of caretaking and caring for others. Now it is time to honor, love and take care of you. And you’re the only one who can. Happy birthday.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22) The amazing power of love and the supreme power of spirit dance together in your sign this week as sweet Venus and noble Jupiter join force in a duet of open-hearted giving, sharing and pairing. As life evolves, we experience strong attractions to people, places and things. We become attached to ideas and outcomes. We attempt to control others. Now you see the true power of letting all that go. Welcome to peace and joy.

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sep. 22) Angels and spirits are floating and flying above and all around you this week. Your job is looking, listening and learning from them. How so? It’s all about relaxing, releasing, accepting, loving and sharing. Cancer energy favors nurturing behaviors for body, mind and spirit. Venus and Jupiter shimmer with love and good fortune. Treat yourself kindly and be kind to others. Eat good food, open your heart and live in the light.

Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 22) Welcome to one of the most metaphysically potent weeks of the year. As sweet, seductive Venus dances with strong, charismatic Jupiter, the cosmos resonate with the power of love and spirit. Yin and yang, male and female, it’s all about opening our hearts, trusting in goodness and keeping the faith. Mystery funk is usually attachment to ego and the material world. Let it go. Sing and dance, let it go. Trust.

Scorpio (Oct. 22-Nov. 21) A powerful, dynamic week presents itself and promises great gains in all matters of heart and spirit. Take a good look at the western sky at twilight and you will understand. Cosmic forces are at work, and it’s your job to get in synch with the universal flow. Listen for celestial music, spend time in natural environments and embrace the awesome power of the Mother Earth. This is your moment and the time is now.

Sagittarius (Nov. 21-Dec. 20) A magnificent fire-sign conjunction of Venus and Jupiter ignites a week of sweet love and uplifting spirit for the Archer. And with the Sun moving through maternal Cancer, you may find yourself reaching out to help others, be of service and nurture the best within to make the world a healthier, happier place to live and thrive. This may sound idealistic and altruistic, but after all, are not you here to do and be exactly that?

Capricorn (Dec. 20-Jan. 19) Other people, places and things call out to you for engagement, involvement and interaction as the Cancer zodiac month opens the door on the second half of your solar year. You may find yourself magnetically attracted to someone or something, as if some mysterious force were directing your course. Follow the signs and omens, trust your intuition and remain vulnerable when it comes to love. Release ego, feel your heart.

Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) Love planet Venus trines your ruling planet Uranus in fire a couple days prior to its conjunction with all-powerful, Midas-touch Jupiter in Leo this week, adding a wildly good-luck, good-fortune glow to your week. Pay attention to your thoughts, ideas and conversations, contact friends, communicate feelings and listen to what others have to say. This is an excellent time to share time, emotions and experience. Go for gusto.

Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Heart and soul, love and romance, good luck and good fortune are themes this week and seductive Venus pairs up with generous Jupiter in the western twilight sky. Also at work are the nurturing forces of maternal Cancer, the Mother Earth shimmers and shines in all her power and glory. Find time to relax in nature, open your heart and discover the shining stars within and all around you.
