Friday, August 21, Telluride Theatre will hold a fundraiser at the Palm Theatre. The happening includes local singers and dancers theatricalizing a very famous album as well as a fun raffle, which allows audience members to win awesome prizes.

“This is a ONE NIGHT ONLY event,” said Sasha Sullivan, artistic director,Telluride Theatre. “Folks are going to be amazed to see some very talented people presenting very creative interpretations of songs we all know from one of the greatest breakthrough albums of our lives. And we are making the raffle an event, part of the show. Something totally different and fun! Everyone gets a chance to win!”

The unique raffle, brought to Telluride straight from Sullivan’s native New Jersey, is called a Pick-A-Prize Raffle (aka Tricky Tray or Basket Raffle). Here’s how it works. Participants buy raffle tickets for a small fee (starting at $10 for a sheet of 20 tickets) and place them in the jars of ONLY the items they want to win. Among the prizes being offered are a Go-Pro Hero 4 Silver camera (value $399), a 16GB iPad Mini (value $399), Festival passes, Restaurant Certificates, Art, Jewelry, Lodging, and much, much more.

“We wanted to do a summer fundraiser that is uniquely Telluride Theatre’s style – fun, entertaining and inclusive. Throw a BIG party!  Everyone can come and enjoy the show and have a chance to win awesome prizes,” added Sullivan. “Think Turkey BINGO meets the art auction!”

General admission tickets are $10 (ages 21 and over only).

People who enjoy special treatment can purchase VIP Tables for four people for just $150. They will get champagne, cocktail service, four sheets of raffle tickets, and more.

Doors will open at 7:30 for bar service and the raffle; at 8, everything else gets under way.

“This is going to be a great party,” said Sullivan. “We’re celebrating our sold-out run of Shakespeare in the Park and gearing up for more shows in the fall and winter. I hope lots of people who support what Telluride Theatre does will come and join us for this joyful evening!”
