The Telluride Conference Center, in conjunction with the Town of Mountain Village, Telluride Ski & Golf Resort and the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association host 11th Annual Telluride Oktoberfest. Event takes place Saturday, October 3rd from 12-5 p.m.

“The festivities kick off with live music, authentic a-la-cart German beer and food, a best-dressed contest and a Klacker/Shut-the-Box tournament. This free, family-friendly event includes face painting, balloon animals, pumpkin decorating, and games to entertain the kids,” said event organizer Tony Kalyk of the Telluride Conference Center.

“Live music featuring the The Lederwiezens, a 6 piece Polka band comprised of entirely local players will head up the main stage. Come enjoy the savory Oompah stylings of tunes new and old. Kids will get to enjoy an hourly musical chair and freeze dance competition set to live accordion. So, bring your waltzing shoes and key in on that huge tuba!” said band founder, Ethan Hale.

In addition, a Childsafe booth provided by the Town of Mountain Village Police Department will offer the opportunity to learn about the FBI Child ID program and the Project ChildSafe programs. These initiatives are designed to raise awareness of child safety and provide parents with effective tools to aid law enforcement authorities in the search for a missing child.

The Telluride Oktoberfest is sponsored by the Telluride Conference Center, Town of Mountain Village and the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program.

TASP’s team of professionally trained instructors and volunteers assess student needs, set up appropriate adaptive equipment and provide instruction or ski buddy and guiding services. TASP offers a variety of adaptive methods and equipment including the monoski, biski, dualski, 3-track and 4-track skis, blind guiding and adaptations on skis or snowboards. Participants range in age from four to 84 and may have physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities.
