There is a wealth of artistic talent within a 150 mile radius of Telluride, but rarely is there an opportunity to experience the riches in one central location.

In February 2016, artists from across the region will be featured at Telluride’s Ah Haa School’s 3^rd annual juried art exhibition, which is open to ceramicists, painters, sculptors, fiber artists, and more.

To be considered for participation in the show, which opens on Thursday, February 4, 5-8 p.m., in concert with Telluride Arts’ First Thursday Art Walk, work must be submitted by January 11, 2016. This year’s show is entitled is Net | Work.

“The title is meant to represent a growing network of artists and arts organizations in the wider Telluride region as well as the net (conclusive) works of each artist’s past year of practice,” explains Ah Haa Adult Curriculum Manager Kris Kwasniewski. “’Net | Work’ emphasizes both the individual and the collective elements of the show.”

Approximately 60 works will be selected for exhibition by jurors Lisa Hogan and Jon Hubbard.

Hogan sits on the board of directors of the Ah Haa and also serves on the boards of the Amazon Aid Foundation and Computers4Kids.

Hubbard has an MFA in metalsmithing from Colorado State University and a BFA in metals and jewelry from the School for American Crafts at Rochester School of Technology.

Net | Work will remain on display in the Daniel Tucker Gallery throughout the month.

All media is being considered with the exception of photography. (Photographers are invited to submit work to Ah Haa’s annual Photography Prize, which takes place in August.)

“There is added incentive to submit beyond the possibility of exhibition,” notes Kwasniewski. “Our jurors will award $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place and $100 for 3rd place. And our opening-night audience will vote on a People’s Choice winner, to be awarded $100.”
