“Ninety percent of history is being in the right place at the right time,” Bob Hunter, Greenpeace co-founder.

The Telluride Film Festival’s Sunday at the Palm series is pleased to present “How to Change the World,” (Canada/UK, 110 min., 2015).  This internationally acclaimed documentary won awards at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and debuted in Telluride last summer during the 2015 Mountainfilm Festival.

Using rare and stunning archival footage, the film follows Bob Hunter and a band of passionate individuals as they venture into the Amchitka nuclear test zone on a boat to stop testing back in 1971. Their protest captured the imagination of the entire world, and the effort activated the founding of Greenpeace as well as the modern green movement.

“A real-life thriller with larger-than-life heroes,” wrote The Huffington Post.

Newsweek described the film as one of the best documentaries of 2015.

From the first early whale campaign to the rise of Greenpeace International in 1979, Jerry Rothwell’s epic tale takes us into the minds of this group of journalists, photographers, musician,s and scientists who ended up inventing environmental activism.

Written and directed by Jerry Rothwell and produced by Al Morrow and Bous de Jong.

Based on the book Greenpeace, by Rex Weyler.
