On December 15, 2016 the Telluride Foundation and local nonprofit organizations want to demonstrate the generosity of our local and extended, community. The goal of Telluride Givse is that every full-time, part-time resident, or visitor of the region logs on to www.telluridegives.org and contributes to a favorite cause.

Donors can find a nonprofit on telluridegives.org and give directly to a cause that makes a difference in and celebrates the magic of the Telluride region. This is an opportunity for everyone who cares about the Telluride region to give locally and collectively to the community.

A matching pool of $10,000 from the Telluride Foundation is being donated and distributed to participating nonprofits based on their percentage of all dollars raised. The $10,000 match is to be donated after Telluride Gives collectively raises $100,000. This match will be shared with every nonprofit on a proportional basis.

Thank you to Provisions Café in Ridgway for pledging to contribute 10% of all the proceeds generated on Telluride Gives Day 12.15.16 into the matching funds for the community. Treat yourself to breakfast, lunch AND dinner at Provisions on Thursday.

KOTO Community Radio is partnering with the Foundation to promote Telluride gives 12.15.16 and will be broadcasting information and updates all day long.

“In past years Telluride Gives has generated much generosity and love for the Telluride regional nonprofits,” said Katie Singer, Marketing and Events Director of the Telluride Foundation.  “We hope to raise over $150,000 this year to support our 93 participating nonprofit organizations that enrich our lives every day. On 12.15.16, please visit www.telluridegives.org so we can show our collective appreciation by giving to them directly online.”

The Telluride Foundation has been supporting the good work of local nonprofits and their causes for 16 years and wants to connect community members with our nonprofits’ stories, successes, and challenges. Each local nonprofit is invited to post its story or an individual project that needs funding. Donors can go to www.telluridegives.org and select which organizations to fund and what amount to give; donors may give to many or a single cause. One-hundred percent of all donations go to charity (minus a processing fee charged by the credit card companies).

Historically, Telluride Gives raised:

$19,000 from 178 individuals for 29 nonprofits on 11.11.11

$43,000 from 421 individuals for 40 nonprofits on 12.12.12

$56,000 from 726 individuals for 57 nonprofits on 11.12.13

$105,000 from 558 individuals for 59 nonprofits on 12.13.14

$134,000 from 664 individuals for 72 nonprofits on 12.15.15

Campaign organizers hope people who have never donated before will give on this day, as well as enable donors to connect with new causes and programs.

“Telluride Gives is about our daily lives – our schools, pets, education, athletics, arts, culture, health, and families – everything that makes our lives and our local community unique. It is also about taking care of one another, providing for families and children in need or in crisis.” said Singer.
