The Telluride Conference Center in Mountain Village

Presented by the Telluride Tourism Board and Telluride Inside…and Out

Telluride Confrence CenterThe two “downtown” venues in the Town of Telluride, the historic Sheridan Opera House, a Victorian jewel box – see related story – and the much newer and larger Michael D. Palm Theatre are primarily dedicated to the performing arts. The third regional venue “uptown” in Mountain Village, however, is intrinsically protean in nature, a shape-shifter par excellence.

Situated in the core of Mountain Village and surrounded by over 500 guest rooms, the Telluride Conference Center has over 22,000 square feet of space specifically built by local artisans to morph easily between event and meeting spaces. The facility regularly hosts lavish weddings, a couture fashion show fundraiser (for the Telluride AIDS Benefit) and meetings for groups gathering in the region. In fact, for group meetings the Conference Center is at the forefront of meeting technology, offering virtual event hosting, secured video conferencing, and creative room sets and designs, conceived to maximize any messages clients require.

For Mountainfilm in Telluride and for the Telluride Film Festival, the Conference Center regularly serves as a grand movie theatre. For Telluride’s community radio, KOTO, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and other major concert masters, the venue rocks as a music hall.

The Telluride Conference Center’s innate flexibility comes down to the talent of a team comprised of award-winning individuals in the field, including lighting and audio crews and an event design and production staff that boasts experts in audio-visual experiences, floral and graphic design – and, of course, menu planning.

Doug Keane, Esquire magazine’s Chef of the Year, former winner of Food and Wine’s Best New Chef (2006), and owner of the Michelin two-star restaurant Cyrus in Healdsburg, California. He now heads the Telluride Conference Center’s food and beverage team. Tony Kalyk is general manager. His job and that of his team is to oversee the facility, service the events and put a friendly face on the facility guests see every day. Meehan Fee, vice president of sales and events for the Alchemy Events Group, is in charge of the sales and marketing vision for the Telluride Conference Center, as well as its off-site catering and events department.

And while the Telluride Conference Center can provide a self-contained world of wonder and opportunity, its Destination Services department is there to facilitate a client’s activities when he wants to ventures out, including dining and travel, skiing and snowmobiling, horseback riding and team-building.

The Telluride Conference Center builds it so you will come.
