The online auction for the Telluride Medical Center's Operation F.E.A.S.T. (Fund for Expanding And Supporting Telluride's Medical Center) began March 1 and continues through March 11. Prizes range from get-a-ways to exotic trips to tickets to Colorado experiences, such as the destinations pictured: Australia, the Smith Fork Ranch, and half-day fly-fishing with Telluride Outside.

What's it all about?

Over the past six years, the F.E.A.S.T. has contributed over one million dollars to improve the scope and sophistication of the Telluride Medical Center, including the purchase of a CT Scan, computerized X-Ray, new X-Ray and electronic medical record system. All the money raised from the 2010 event auction and dinner will go to support the much-needed Emergency Room renovation.

At the heart of the 6th annual gala fundraiser is health and sustainability: Chef Jake Linzinmeir of Excelsior and Xcafe and Kenny Gilbert, executive chef of Onyx and Suede Bar at Capella are creating a gourmet feast using products grown on regional farms and ranches. The evening's entertainment is the nationally renowned Melvin Seals & Second to None, performing with his new funk band. Seals has been a force in the music industry for over 30 years, performing with legends such as Chuck Berry, Charlie Daniels and Elvin Bishop. Seals is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited Hammond B-3 organ and keyboard playing in the Jerry Garcia Band.
