FREE Swing Dance Lessons!

Tuesday June 3, 6-7:30pm at the Sheridan Opera House

Join locals Laura and Lance Colbert for two FREE laid back beginner swing dance classes. Pick up some new moves just in time for the Telluride Historical Museum’s “Swingin’ at the Sheridan” swing dance on June 6. “Swingin’ at the Sheridan” is in celebration of the Telluride Historical Museum’s June 5 exhibit opening, “Voices of Wartime: Telluride during WWII,” and marks the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe. Be the first to see the Telluride Historical Museum’s new annual exhibit, “Voices of Wartime: Telluride during WWII.” Experience wartime Telluride through the eyes of those who lived and fought during this tragic 20th century conflict. The era is brought to life through vibrant oral histories, period film reels, iconic images, and wartime artifacts. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments provided.

Calling all dolls and dreamboats! Put on your dancin’ shoes for a 1940s G.I. Swing Dance at the Sheridan Opera House! Jive to the tunes of the 1940s, enjoy booze at the cash bar, and jitterbug the night away at this dynamite dance! Telluride High School Graduates get in FREE! Period attire is highly encouraged. $10 entry.
