4th Annual Telluride Cars & Colors: Overview, 9/27-30!

Focusing on high-end restorations and vintage and exotic vehicles, the upcoming 4th annual Telluride Festival of Cars & Colors, September 27 –September 30, 2018, is a world-class celebration targeting automobile and aviation aficionados and lifestyle enthusiasts, set against a backdrop of Telluride’s autumnal colors. Bottom line: the Telluride Festival of Cars & Colors is the embodiment of the classic Concours combined with the best aspects of today’s automotive lifestyle events. 

“Cars & Colors aims to be the Pebble Beach of Colorado,” says event founder Ray Cody. “Attendees will need all four days to really see everything.”

Festival overview:

In 2018, the 4th annual Telluride Festival of Cars & Colors continues the time-honored tradition of the Concours d’Elegance, gathering the world’s finest automobiles at what is easily one of America’s most beautiful destinations in the world, namely Telluride, Colorado, located in the majestic San Juan mountains.

Thursday, September 27:

The Festival starts Thursday, Sept 27, with the Welcome Reception and Taste of Mountain Village

Join the event organizers at the Opening Reception and Taste of Mountain Village at the Cars & Colors Lounge in Heritage Plaza, Mountain Village. Gear up for the next three exciting days of Car Festival fun. Live musical entertainment is to be provided by Telluride Smooth Jazz. 6pm – 9pm.

Friday, September 28:

Friday features the Million Dollar Highway Road Rally, Poker Run and Cool Cars on Colorado, an event featuring unique, eye-dazzling vehicles staged along downtown Telluride’s historic Main Street.

Cool Cars on Colorado is FREE to the general public. Friday from 4:30pm-7:00pm

Saturday, September 29:

Trevor Reiff Concours

Cool Cars on Colorado continues and remains free to the general public. Saturday, 10:00am-3:00pm.

American Concours Cars: High-end vintage and exotic cars on the Telluride golf course in Mountain Village, 10am – 3pm.

Motorcycle Concours Cars: High-end vintage and exotic cars on the Telluride golf course in Mountain Village. 10am – 3pm.

Telluride Airport: Vintage Warbird aircraft display and rides (for a fee) and “Hyper Car” display in Hangar 29, 10am – 4pm.

Hangar 29 Evening Event, Telluride Airport: Special Guest Speaker; Danny Thompson, fresh off his new land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Vintage Warbird aircraft display, the“Hyper Car” display in Hangar 29, Rock & Roll DJ music by Ben Kerr, American Concours.

People’s Choice award announced, appetizers and a cash bar presented by the Telluride Rotary, 6pm – 9pm.

Sunday, September 30:

International Concours Cars: High-end vintage and exotic cars on the Telluride golf course in Mountain Village. 10am – 3pm.

Motorcycle Concours Cars: High-end vintage and exotic cars on the Telluride golf course in Mountain Village. 10am – 3pm.

Alpenglow Closing Reception: Everyone is invited to enjoy appetizers and drinks and find out who won the 2018 American Concours People’s Choice Award, the Motorcycle Concours People’s Choice Award and the Cars & Colors Photo Contest. Live music presented by Telluride Smooth Jazz.

Footnote: Beyond Cars & Colors’ happening, the Telluride region itself, including Town and Mountain Village, is packed with great outdoor activities for locals and guests to enjoy: mountain biking trails; hanging waterfall hikes; fly fishing; 18-hole golf course; rock climbing; ATV tours; great dining and shopping too.
