Mountain Village: Red, White & Blues Celebration, July 3 & July 4

The Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association is pleased to announce the lineup and events for the 2019 Red, White and Blues Celebration which takes place July 3 and 4, 2019, at Sunset Plaza, on the lawn near Lift 1 and at Heritage Plaza near the base of Lift 4. Learn more about the Red, White & Blues Celebration and event by contacting the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association at (970) 728-1904 or by visiting tmvoa.org and the Sunset Concerts on Telluride Inside…and Out.

The annual Red, White & Blues Celebration will continue the tradition of family fun on July 3 and 4. The two-day event is set in the panoramic San Juan Mountains in Mountain Village, Colorado, (just a gondola ride away from Telluride), offering music, children’s events, merchant discounts, food and drink specials, and much more.

“What a treat for the Mountain Village community and surrounding residents to get two days of fun and quality music that is free!”  said Teddy Errico, producer of the series.

Along with the music, each day will feature children’s activities and entertainment from 1 to 5 p.m. in a family-friendly atmosphere in both Sunset and Heritage plazas.

On July 3 at Sunset Plaza, Telluride Adaptive Sports Program will host its annual ice cream social and the Mountain Village Fire Department will be on hand with its newest fire truck for the kids to check out. The Red, White & Blues Concert will start at 6 p.m. with Lawrence, a pop and soul brother and sister combo playing everything from Motown to Muscle Shoals and everything in between.

On July 4, talented local artists will take the Heritage Plaza stage starting at 1 p.m. with Alan Booradley and Members of the NIA, followed by Claybrook Penn and Friends, and finally the ever-popular Joint Point. Capping off the evening, nationally acclaimed, Kat V takes the stage in Heritage Plaza at 6:30 p.m.

Kat V has been re-defining the classical violinist image with the help of some strings and needles.

Born to a family of musicians, she started classical violin training at age five. Her inspiration to change the way people experience classical instruments started when she was exposed to the world of house, hip-hop, and experimental music. Here curiosity (and frequent appearances) in the Chicago nightclub and DJ scene opened up new outlets and possibilities of musical expression.

And, for those families who don’t want to head into Telluride for the fireworks display, “Movies Under the Stars” will feature a screening of “The Sand Lot” starting at 8:45 p.m. in Reflection Plaza.

“TMVOA is excited to continue to provide two days of music and kids activities during Red, White & Blues in Mountain Village,” said TMVOA Administration and Operations Manager Heidi Stenhammer. “We look forward to having our members, guests, and visitors attend this entertaining holiday event.”
