Telluride Arts: Art Walk February, 2/6!

Telluride Arts’ First Thursday Art Walk is a festive celebration of the art scene in downtown Telluride. Participating venues host receptions to introduce new exhibits on the first Thursday of each month through April 2020.

A complimentary gallery guide offering a self-guided tour is available at Visit Telluride on W. Colorado Avenue and at participating venues, which are open to the public most days.

During the month of February, starting with Art Walk, Telluride’s Ah Haa School for the Arts presents the 2020 Annual Regional Exhibition, “Size Matters: Make It Miniature. Artists were invited to Think Big but work tiny in any medium – painting, ceramics, sculpture, printing, fiber, metals, photography and beyond. The artworks are no larger than 10”x10” (or 10”x10”10”) in total.

In February the Telluride Gallery of Fine Art presents an exhibition of photographs by Dan Budnik and Brett Schreckengost. (For more on the artists, go here.)

Slate Gray Gallery presents “Ancient Influence,” an exhibit featuring the abstract, encaustic paintings of Amy Van Winkle and Fran Nagy’s newest body of work, “1,000 Miles,”which depicts an ancient civilization’s forced journey to assimilate into a new culture. (For more about the work, go here.)

Telluride Arts’ Gallery 81435 presents the work of mother and son duo, Goedele Vanhille and Jonas Fahnestock for their show, “Family Juxaposed.”

Telluride Arts HQ presents the work of Paonia-based artist Shannon Richardson for her solo exhibit,”A Parade of Parables.” Fairytales impacted Richardson at a young age, and their influence is evident in her narrative-driven, personal fables.
