To Your Health: Kids in Danger?

Part-time Telluride local Dr. Alan Safdi, a world-renowned internist and gastroenterologist with encyclopedic knowledge of mind-body wellness and preventative medicine, posts on Telluride Inside… and Out under the banner of “To Your Health.” His blogs feature the most current information in his field: health, wellness, and longevity. Which now has to mean Dr. Alan’s podcasts are all about what’s on everyone’s mind: COVID-19.

Links some of Dr. Alan’s in-depth podcasts on COVID-19 are below.

This week, Dr. Alan talks about a growing risk to young people.

To date, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, children and adolescents have mostly experienced mild symptoms or no symptoms at all. In contrast to adults, very few children have required hospitalization.

However, in recent days, health systems in the U.S. and Europe have reported a rare, but potentially serious inflammatory illness in kids that may be linked to coronavirus. Doctors are working to learn more about the condition, which is being called “pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome.”
