We are a GO!

For a limited number or small, socially distant outdoor forays and workshops in Telluride from August 13-16, 2020.

Although it is all beginning to sound like a broken record, these really are unprecedented times. Over the past year, energy was really building among the organizers and members of the Mushroom Festival family for our 40th Annual Telluride Mushroom Festival.

We’re determined to press on with a variation of the Festival this year, but of course there is no way to do it like we normally would. No doubt most of you mushroom fanatics will opt to stay home where you’re safe, and I totally understand that. However, I urge you to check out our “virtual” Festival online from August 10-16. Purchase a virtual pass to see all of the online lectures, workshops, etc. (The link is above.)

For those still planning to come to Telluride and have changed your original pass to the “COVID-19 Donation + Virtual Pass” option, be informed that ALL in-person events will be outdoors and restricted to small groups (of 10 or fewer). As stakeholders and donors of our Festival, it will be YOU who has 1st dibs on registration for these limited in-person happenings.

As we have mentioned before, we want to be as safe and sensible as possible, and we have to follow state and local recommendations, rules and restrictions. So there won’t be a wonderful wild parade this year…there won’t be lecture venues filled to capacity…and there won’t be the usual wild mushroom cook dinners serving the masses.

What it will mean, for those of you coming to Telluride, is a very small and personal outdoor experience. Forays, myco-remediation workshops and cooking demos will be small, six feet apart and no carpooling. We want everyone to leave just as healthy as they arrived. And be assured, once this pandemic has passed, the Festival will be back.

Because…

WE LOVE MUSHROOMS! – Britt Bunyard, Festival Director’
