Ah Haa Closes on New Home! Open House 10/28!

On the morning of Friday, October 20, 2020,Telluride’s Ah Haa School for the Arts sold the Depot to the Telluride Science Research Center or Telluride Science. That same afternoon Ah Haa became the new owners of a space in the Silver Jack Building!  (See related story on Telluride Science.)

The following are some images of the new space and a note from the institution’s long-time executive director Judy Kohin.

Open house on October 28, 12 – 5 p.m. Tours of up to 10 people given every 30 minutes.

And now the fun begins…finishing the interior spaces! Starting the second week of November, construction will commence in full force and will take approximately 7 months to complete. We hope to be fully operational by summer 2021.

Meanwhile, we’d like to offer the community a tour of the new space. We met with Grace Franklin, San Miguel County Public Health Director  who enabled us to offer site tours for up to 10 people. We’d love to walk you through every floor and show you how the space will be laid out. Exciting.

Please call or email me to set up a time for a site tour. Or drop by on Wednesday, October 28, noon-5pm, when we’ll be hosting an afternoon house with tours happening every half hour for up to 10 people. Tours will be first-come, first-served, but If you want to reserve a space for next Wednesday, let me know. Our special friends and donors get priority. If that date and time doesn’t work, do call to set up something at another time.

We could not have done this without the generosity and support of the greater Telluride community. We have $1.6M left to raise, so we’re in the final stretch of an $11M project. WE CAN DO IT! We hope to have all the funds raised by the time we move in next May or June.

THANK YOU!! Thanks for your belief in Ah Haa, in Telluride, in the arts and the power of creativity.

In celebration…

Judy Kohin
